Hindi Serial – 12/24 Karol Bagh – the good pair of Simi and Abhi have to continue to suffer

As expected, in any Hindi serial, it is the good people who are always shown as suffering. After all, this is what the viewers also want to see. So, in the case of the Zee serial 12/24 Karol Bagh, it is the good pair of Simi and Abhi who are suffering and out on the road. Simi almost got sucked into a marriage to Nakul when her mother wanted her younger daughter Neetu (already pregnant from her relationship with a driver who is now in jail for theft) to get married to Omi from the rich family, and a condition was that Simi should also get married to Nakul, the elder brother. Getting Omi married was a necessity since he was not totally of sound mind, and it was important that a girl was getting agreed to marry him.
However, at the time of the marriage of Simi, when Neetu and Omi had already got married, Abhi arrives on the scene and declares that Simi was to get married to him. Nakul creates a big scene, beats up Abhi, and almost kills him with a sword but Simi stands in the way. This creates a scene where finally Simi’s mother denounces her, and claims that for her, Simi is dead. Her dad however is not happy at this, and there is almost a breakup between Simi’s mother and father. In the meantime, Neetu is now married to Omi, and is very unhappy with the relationship and is very rude to most people in her inlaws place.
When Abhi’s father, Mr. Taneja arrives back to his house and sees Abhi and Simi there, he turns them out and they have to leave the house. They are now out on the road, and wondering for a place to stay. Her father is frantic in worry, with only Simi’s middle sister worried about her fate.
Bad character on TV – Wife wants him to withdraw

Imagine a villain on TV getting bad vibes in real life. Some of movie world’s villains have been excellent people, such as Danny. Yet at the same time, if you do negative roles, there are many people who view you negatively.
Though his performance and character have been receiving rave reviews, Indresh Mallik, the infamous Rajeev Bhalla, of Zee TV’s ‘12/24 Karol Bagh’ is not a very happy man. Reason ironically being the same on-screen character. Indresh plays a negative role in the show, wherein he is addicted to all the bad habits ranging from ‘drinking to visiting brothels’. He even tries to rape his soon-to-be wedded wife, Simmi, in the show. Recently when Indresh, with his wife, visited the Jhandewala temple at the Capital, instead of getting appreciative attention from the passers-by, they threw dirty glances at him and stayed at an arm’s distance. They even, in a very mean way, addressed his wife and enquired on how she manages to stay with such a man. Indresh’s wife who though understands that it’s only his on-screen image that’s driving such reactions from the audience, is not very happy about receiving such feedback at public places. According to her, stepping out of the house has now turned into a bitter experience and she worries that someone on the road will out-of-the-blue start abusing Indresh without any real fault of his. She has been requesting the production house to soon end Indresh’s character in a positive way. Also a very few people know that Indresh actually is a fashion designer who had no acting aspirations till he landed with this offer, one fine day at the producer’s office. Hence his wife tries to reason out that even if he enjoys acting, he need not do such roles henceforth.

…‘12/24 Karol Bagh’, ‘An Address Not Too Far From Our Own Lives’…
Hindustan badal raha hain aur ‘Hindustan ka no.1 Network’ leke aaya hain aapke saamne iss badalav se uthnewaale kaii sawaal jo hum aam zindagi mein kafi hadtak sunte aaye hain, jaise… –‘Shaadi ya career?’ ‘Apne se chote umar ke ladke se pyar?’ ‘Pitaji ka business ya naukari?’…
…A lot of similar questions are beautifully raised in this story of a family which though sometimes doesn’t understand each others’ needs and dreams, believes in staying together with perfect love and compassion. ‘12/24 Karol Bagh’ will narrate the lives of four siblings who are facing different kinds of dilemmas in their day-to day lives as they struggle to survive, find love and then to keep relationships together. The show debuts on Zee TV on August 31st, Monday – Thursday at 10 p.m.
The show will see the sights of hubbub lanes and by-lanes of Karol Bagh and Lajpat Nagar, the lip-smacking food corners in Bengali market, the vastness of Pragati Maidan, picturesque India Gate and Parliament House, Delhi University and many such frames that essentially collaborate the essence of Delhi and also form an important part of any middle-class family that resides in the Capital.
